December’s release of WordPess 4.1 has seen almost 15,000,000 downloads – so it’s been a popular one, to say the least! However, as with all new releases, it had a few kinks and bugs that needed to be worked out so last week we saw the release of WordPress 4.1.1 – a maintenance release that resolved some 21 bugs from the original version.
A full list of the bugs that have been fixed is available but some of the highlights include:
- Customizer doesn’t load in IE8 with 4.1
- Inline image editor does not appear in the Chrome browser
- ‘Log out of all other sessions’ button overrides Enter key
- Inconsistent behavior/results of wp_insert_term and wp_update_term
While most of the bugs were minor problems, there were a few niggly issues that did impact the way users navigated WordPress 4.1 and it’s great to see such a robust maintenance release being made available so quickly. If you haven’t yet installed WordPress 4.1.1 you can either update automatically from the Dashboard > Updates menu in your site’s administration area or visit https://wordpress.org/download/release-archive/.
