Over the weekend we saw the release of WordPress 4.1 Beta 1. As the software is still in development (4.1 is due for official release next month) it’s recommended that you demo it on a test site to try out the new features.

The WordPress developers have highlighted the following new features to need to be tested out by users:

  • Next year’s default theme, Twenty Fifteen, has been debuted. We blogged about it here.
  • A ‘distraction-free’ writing mode for the editor
  • New language packs can be automatically installed from the General Settings screen
  • A brand new inline formatting toolbar for embedded images

Users are encouraged to test out the new release and report any bugs in the WordPress support forums.
