Last week saw the release of the new WordPress for Android app, version 4.4. It’s now available in the Google Play store for any users who want to try it out, and early reviews suggest it’s packing a punch with a number of improvements.
A brand new look for Pages and Posts makes it simpler and clearer for users to view and edit their content on the go. Plus, the Reader has been revamped to provide a crisper, more modern look that puts less strain on the eyes, and the new font selection, Merriweather, has been well received so far.
There have also been changes made to the way Stats are viewed, with larger tablets being treated to two columns, so Stats now appear the same way as they do on a desktop.
Bug fixes were next up on the agenda, with the focus being put on an annoying little bug that saw posts getting trashed incorrect when the post above them was trashed. That’s now been taken care of, as well as a number of other niggles.
The team behind this release are already hard at work on the next version of the app, and those interested in seeing its progress can stay up to date by visiting the 4.5 milestone on Github.
